Tour Consultant 

Job Overview: A tour consultant is responsible for providing excellent customer service and expertise in planning, organizing, and selling travel tours to customers.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Strong knowledge in the tourism industry and develop packages for both inbound and outbound packages. 
  • Able to articulate and provide the most suitable packages based on request. 
  • Minimum work experience of 3 years in a reputable travel agency. 
  • Knowledge of GDS advantage but not required. 
  • Consult with customers to understand their preferences and budget, recommending suitable tour packages. 
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of travel destinations, trends, and tour packages to provide accurate information and suggestions. 
  • Create detailed itineraries aligned with customer preferences, covering transportation, accommodations, activities, and meals. 
  • Customize tour packages to meet each customer’s unique needs and provide personalized recommendations. 
  • Manage flight, hotel, transportation, and activity reservations, ensuring accuracy and timely confirmations. 
  • Provide clear cost breakdowns, including any additional fees or optional services. 
  • Assist customers with necessary travel documents, visas and permits, ensuring understanding of requirements. 
  • Maintain regular contact with customers before, during and after their trips to address questions and provide support. 
  • Address travel issues, such as flight delays or accommodation problems, and find suitable solutions. 
  • Promote additional services like travel insurance, airport transfers, and guided tours to enhance the customer’s experience. 
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell other travel-related services, such as travel insurance, car rentals, or cruises. 
  • Keep accurate records of customer interactions and bookings in the agency’s database. 
  • Collect customer feedback to continually improve services and satisfaction. 

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Strong knowledge of travel destinations, cultures, and attractions. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Sales and negotiation abilities. 
  • Attention to detail and organization. 
  • Proficiency in travel booking systems. 
  • Time management skills to handle multiple customers and bookings. 
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. 
  • Knowledge of travel regulations and visa requirements.
