Job Overview: A tour consultant is responsible for providing excellent customer service and expertise in planning, organizing, and selling travel tours to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strong knowledge in the tourism industry and develop packages for both inbound and outbound packages.
- Able to articulate and provide the most suitable packages based on request.
- Minimum work experience of 3 years in a reputable travel agency.
- Knowledge of GDS advantage but not required.
- Consult with customers to understand their preferences and budget, recommending suitable tour packages.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of travel destinations, trends, and tour packages to provide accurate information and suggestions.
- Create detailed itineraries aligned with customer preferences, covering transportation, accommodations, activities, and meals.
- Customize tour packages to meet each customer’s unique needs and provide personalized recommendations.
- Manage flight, hotel, transportation, and activity reservations, ensuring accuracy and timely confirmations.
- Provide clear cost breakdowns, including any additional fees or optional services.
- Assist customers with necessary travel documents, visas and permits, ensuring understanding of requirements.
- Maintain regular contact with customers before, during and after their trips to address questions and provide support.
- Address travel issues, such as flight delays or accommodation problems, and find suitable solutions.
- Promote additional services like travel insurance, airport transfers, and guided tours to enhance the customer’s experience.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell other travel-related services, such as travel insurance, car rentals, or cruises.
- Keep accurate records of customer interactions and bookings in the agency’s database.
- Collect customer feedback to continually improve services and satisfaction.
