11D10N MAGNIFICENT NEW ZEALAND – SEAT IN COACH (SIC)
Overview
Upon arriving in Auckland, you will be transferred to your accommodation for check-in. Auckland offers a range of optional activities, including a visit to the Sky Tower, dining at the Orbit Restaurant, embarking on an Auckland Harbour Dinner Cruise, or exploring the Weta Workshop Unleashed. You’ll spend your first night in Auckland.
The next day, your journey will take you to the Hobbiton Movie Set, where you’ll explore the iconic filming locations of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. After enjoying a buffet lunch in the Party Marquee, you will continue to Rotorua for the night. For those seeking relaxation, the Wai Ariki Hot Springs and Spa is an optional activity to consider.
In Rotorua, you’ll start the day with a visit to the Wai-O-Tapu Geothermal Wonderland for a two-hour tour. In the evening, enjoy a cultural experience at Te Puia, including a buffet dinner, performance, and a sweet ending of hot chocolate and pudding on the geyser terrace. Overnight in Rotorua.
You will then take a domestic flight to Christchurch (airfare not included), where you’ll spend the night. Optional activities in Christchurch include a Tram Dinner, Tram Tour, or punting on the Avon River.
The following day, you’ll board the Tranz Alpine train for a scenic journey across the Canterbury Plains, arriving in Greymouth. After a visit to the Punakaiki Pancake Rocks and Blowholes, you will be transferred to your accommodation for an overnight stay in Greymouth.
Your tour continues with a visit to Shantytown Heritage Park in the morning before traveling to Franz Josef, where you’ll spend the night in Glacier Country.
The journey from Franz Josef to Queenstown offers breathtaking views of wilderness towns, waterfalls, and river scenery. Once in Queenstown, you will have the option to enjoy a Gondola ride before spending the night there.
The following day is free for you to explore Queenstown’s many optional activities, including the Glenorchy & Paradise Explorer Tour or the Arrowtown Wanaka Highlights Tour. Another overnight stay in Queenstown awaits.
You’ll then embark on a tour to Milford Sound, passing stunning mirror lakes and waterfalls along the way. After a scenic cruise through Milford Sound, you will return to Queenstown. A buffet lunch is included during the cruise, and you’ll spend another night in Queenstown.
From Queenstown, your tour continues through the Kawarau Gorge, Lake Dunstan, and the Lindis Pass, with stops in Mt Cook Village and Lake Tekapo. You’ll visit the Church of the Good Shepherd before continuing to Christchurch for an overnight stay.
On your final day, you will be transferred to Christchurch Airport for your departure. Optional activities include a visit to the Antarctic Centre before your departure.

Day 1: Arrive Auckland
- Arrive in Auckland.

Day 2: Auckland – Hobbiton – Rotorua
- Tour to the rolling green hills to the iconic Hobbiton Movie Set.
- After exploring Hobbiton, lunch in the Party Marquee.
- Continue to Rotorua.
Day 3: Rotorua
- Transported to Wai-O-Tapu Geothermal Wonderland for a two-hour visit.
- In the evening, transported to Te Puia including a buffet dinner and cultural performance.
- The evening culminates with hot chocolate and pudding on the geyser terrace.

Day 4: Rotorua – Christchurch (Flight not included)
- Depart on your domestic flight to Christchurch (airfare not included).
- Overnight in Christchurch.
Day 5: Christchurch – Greymouth
- Transported to the Christchurch Railway Station for the Tranz Alpine train crossing the vast expanses of the Canterbury Plains.
- On arrival in Greymouth, transferred to the Punakaiki Pancake Rocks and Blowholes for a short self-guided walk.
- Transfer to accommodation.
- Overnight in Greymouth.
Day 6: Greymouth – Franz Josef
- This morning, transferred to Shantytown Heritage Park.
- Transfer to Glacier Country.
- Overnight in Franz Josed
Day 7: Franz Josef – Queenstown
- Transfer through wilderness towns, waterfalls, and river scenery on the journey to Queenstown.
- Overnight in Queenstown.
Day 8: Queenstown
- Free day to add some of the endless optional activities on offer.
- Overnight in Queenstown.
Day 9: Queenstown – Milford Sound – Queenstown
- Today’s stunning tour takes you past mirror lakes and waterfalls into Milford Sound.
- On arrival, board your vessel for a cruise of the fiord surrounded by towering mountains and cliffs.
- After a big day out, return to downtown Queenstown.
- Lunch is included.
- Overnight in Queenstown.
Day 10: Queenstown – Mt Cook / Tekapo – Christchurch
- Departs Queenstown through the stunning Kawarau Gorge and fruit and wine growing region of Cromwell.
- Follows a beautiful Lake Dunstan and meanders through the dramatic Lindis Pass.
- Travel the vast plains of the Mackenzie district, alongside magnificent turquoise blue lakes, framed by Aoraki Mt Cook and the spectacular Southern Alps to Mt Cook Village where you have some free time.
- Make a stop close to the popular Church of the Good Shepherd before continuing through the amazing countryside to Christchurch.
- Overnight in Christchurch.
Day 11: Depart Christchurch
- Transfer to airport for departure.
