Overview
Bario is a remote village located in the Kelabit Highlands of Sarawak, Malaysia. Known for its stunning natural beauty and cool climate, Bario is often referred to as the “Gateway to the Kelabit Highlands.” The village is inhabited primarily by the Kelabit people, one of the indigenous tribes of Borneo. Bario is famous for its organic rice, which is grown in the fertile highland soils, as well as its salt springs and traditional longhouses. The area is a popular destination for eco-tourism and cultural tourism, offering activities such as trekking, bird watching, and experiencing the unique Kelabit culture and hospitality.

Itinerary
Day 1 Bario (Lunch / Dinner)
- Meet on arrival at Bario Airport and transfer to homestay.
- Settle your accommodation.
- Briefing on your itinerary by the local guide.
- After lunch, explore Bario to WW2 Monument and plane wreckage, villages in Bario and the surroundings area.
- Return to the homestay and freshen-up while waiting for dinner.
- Overnight.
Day 2 Prayermountain / Penan Settlement (Pa’Umor Longhouse) / Vegetable Farm & Local Craft (Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner)
- Wake up at wee hours (4.30 am) for a light breakfast, trek up Prayer Mountain to enjoy a sunset panoramic view of rolling over Bario, trek back to visit the Penan settlement.
- Breakfast and lunch at the homestay before proceeding to visit the salt spring near Pa’Umor perhaps to witness the Kelabit way of producing the mountain salt.
- Continue Bario tour to other villages and visit vegetable farms and local craft.
- Return to the homestay.
- Dinner and overnight.
Day 3 Pa’remapuh Waterfall (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- Breakfast before pickup to trek head to Pa’Remapuh waterfall.Enjoy a dip in the fresh mountain water and picnic lunch.
- Rest and relax.
- Return trek takes approximately 3 to 4 hours.
- Back to the homestay for free at leisure or free to explore Bario.
- Dinner and overnight.
Day 4 Transfer Out (Breakfast)
- Breakfast before transferring to the airport for flight out.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
- Rates quoted strictly for minimum number of persons as per request above, if less or any reduce no of person the rate will be different.
- This is only a quotation. No reservation has been made until we receive your written acceptance of the quotation and deposit to secure the quotation rates.
- Price is subject to any surcharge including peak season surcharge / weekend / public holiday surcharge.
- Confirmation is subject to availability of both hotels / land transfer arrangements.
- Deposit of 50% is required upon booking confirmation and final payment to be paid in full one month before arrival.
- Change of travel date is allowed and must be made 2 weeks prior to check-in date and is subject to room availability.
- Cancellation procedure:
- Travel arrangements for any member of the party may be cancelled at any time by written notice by the person who made the booking.
- Please note the following:
- If full payment is not received one month prior to arrival date, Star Travel has the right to cancel your reservation. Star Travel will not be responsible for lost reservations.
- If a person in a party cancel and there is a room change caused by this cancellation (such as Twin to Single), charges for the new room type will be the responsibility of the remaining party.
