Overview
For your 4D3N Luang Prabang private tour, you can look forward to a balance of cultural exploration, scenic beauty, and leisure time. Upon your arrival in Luang Prabang, you’ll have the evening free to rest or explore the town at your leisure. On the second day, you’ll start with an exploration of the sacred Mount Phousi, followed by visits to Wat Mai and a Mekong River cruise. Along the way, you’ll visit Ban Xang Hai village, known for rice wine production, and explore the famous Buddha-filled Pak Ou caves. The day will end with a visit to Ban Xang Khong village, famous for its silk weaving and traditional paper-making, and a chance to explore the Night Market.
On the third day, you’ll have an option to participate in the morning alms-giving ceremony to monks, followed by visits to key cultural sites like Wat Xiengthong and Wat Visoun. You’ll then head to Kuang Si waterfall, where you’ll have the opportunity to hike and swim amidst nature. The fourth day will be a relaxed one, allowing you to enjoy your morning at leisure before transferring to the airport for departure.
This tour offers a rich blend of heritage, nature, and peaceful exploration, giving you a well-rounded Luang Prabang experience.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Luang Prabang
- Upon arrival, meet and greet with our guide.
- Proceed to hotel for check in.
- Rest of the day is free at leisure.
- Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 2: Luang Prabang – City & Pak Ou Cave (Breakfast)
- In the morning, climb up 328 steps of Mount Phousi for enjoyable exploration of the sacred.
- Then visit Wat Mai, the largest and most richly decorated of the temples in Luang Prabang.
- Then board a cruise upstream on the Mekong River.
- Along the way, make a stop at Ban Xang Hai village where rice wine is distilled.
- Visit caves of Tham Ting and Tham Phoum (house of hundreds of Buddha statues)
- Return to Luang Prabang in the afternoon.
- Continue visit Ban Xang Khong (village well known for silk hand weaving and traditional Saa paper making.
- Explore Night Market.
- Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 3: Luang Prabang – Kuang Si Waterfall (Breakfast)
You have the option to wake up before dawn to witness and participate in offering alms to hundred of Saffron-robed monks. Please tell your guide a day in advance if you wish to make an offering so he/she can prepare some food for you to hand over the monks. (If you do not wish to make an offering, please keep an appropriate distance, and observe the ritual silence. Dress appropriately – shoulders, chest and legs should be covered)
- Visit the morning market.
- Visit the magnificent Wat Xiengthong.
- Visit Traditional Arts and Ethnology Center (close on Monday)
- Visit Wat Visoun (the holiest temple of the city)
- Continue past Wat Aham.
- Transfer by private vehicle to Kuang Si waterfall.
- On the way, you can visit the Lao ethnic minority groups – Ban Na Oune Village.
- At waterfalls, take leisurely hike through the national parks towards the Kuang Si waterfalls (swimming is possible).
- Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 4: Luang Prabang – Departure (Breakfast)
- Breakfast at hotel.
- Free at leisure until transfer back to Luang Prabang airport.
- Departure.
