Overview
This 6-day, 5-night private tour of Vientiane, Pakse, and 4000 Islands offers a blend of cultural experiences, scenic nature, and relaxing moments.
Upon arrival in Vientiane, you’ll have time to settle in before exploring the city’s landmarks, including the historic Wat Sisaket and the iconic That Luang Stupa. A visit to the serene Buddha Park and the bustling Night Market rounds off your stay in Vientiane.
The journey then takes you south with a flight to Pakse, where you will explore the beauty of Tad Fane waterfall and visit local ethnic minority villages in Saravanh. In Champasak, the UNESCO-listed Wat Phou Temple offers a glimpse into the region’s ancient history before you relax in the peaceful 4000 Islands area.
On Khong Island, enjoy a local boat tour to Don Khone, visit French colonial relics, and experience the powerful Liphi Waterfall. There’s also a chance to explore Don Det Island before heading to Khone Phapheng, the largest waterfall by volume in Southeast Asia. Afterward, enjoy your last moments on the islands before returning to Pakse for your departure.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Vientiane
- Upon arrival, meet with our representative.
- Transfer to hotel for check in.
- Free at leisure, rest of day on your own.
- Overnight in Vientiane.
Day 2: Vientiane – City Tour & Buddha Park (Breakfast)
- After breakfast, visit Wat Sisaket (the city’s oldest temple)
- On the way to the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa, stop to take a pictures of the Patuxay Monument.
- Afternoon, short drive out of the city to visit the Buddha Park.
- Return to the city and enjoy sunset on the Mekong River.
- Can explore the Street Night Market at Anouvong Park in the evening.
- Overnight in Vientiane.
Day 3: Vientiane – Fly to Pake – Tadlo – Pakse (Breakfast)
- Breakfast at hotel, then transfer to airport for a short flight to Pakse.
- Upon arrival, meet with our local representative.
- Head to Saravanh province via Tateng Village.
- Make a stopover en route to observe the locals making tea and coffee.
- Visit Tad Fane waterfall.
- Upon arrival, visit to villages of Alak, Ng, Datu ethnic minority group.
- Return to the town in the late afternoon.
- If time permits, drive up Phou Salao to visit the Big Buddha at Wat Phonethong and overnight in Pakse.
Day 4: Pakse – Wat Phou – Khong Island (Breakfast)
- After breakfast, leave Pakse and transfer to Champasak District.
- Visit Wat Phou Temple Complex.
- Continue to 4000 Island Region and Khong Island (quite relaxing in the day, while pretty at night)
- Rest of the day at free leisure.
- Overnight in Khong Island.
Day 5: Khong Island – Khone Island & Surroundings (Breakfast)
- After breakfast, enjoy the surrounding countryside and embark on a local boat tour to Don Khone.
- Have the option of exploring the island by bicycle (visit the remain of the French period and Liphi Waterfall)
- Chance to visit Don Det (small island nearby Don Khone)
- Return to mainland at the fishing village of Ban Nakasang.
- Drive further south to visit Khone Phapheng (largest waterfall by volume in South East Asia)
- Drive back to Khong Island for overnight stay.
- Overnight stay in Khong Island.
Day 6: Khong Island – Pakse – Departure (Breakfast)
- Breakfast at hotel.
- Free time till our guide meets you.
- Transfer to Pakse airport.
- Departure.
