Overview
Upon arrival at Colombo Airport, you’ll be greeted and transferred to Veyangoda to unwind at Hotel Covanro. The journey continues with a drive to Wilpattu National Park for a safari experience, then onward to Anuradhapura for a relaxed evening stay. Explore the ancient city of Anuradhapura, visiting its historical sites, before heading to Trincomalee, where you can enjoy nearby beaches. Optionally, experience whale watching off Trincomalee’s coast, followed by a safari at Minneriya National Park. Spend the night in Habarana.
Next, head to Sigiriya to explore its iconic rock fortress, then proceed to Kandy to visit the Temple of the Tooth and, optionally, witness a cultural dance show. Travel to Colombo, stopping by a tea factory on the way, and enjoy a leisurely evening in the city. Explore Galle’s charming streets, historical fort, and local attractions, with a visit to a turtle hatchery and a serene mangrove boat ride. Conclude with a city tour in Colombo, taking in historic sites and some last-minute shopping before your journey home.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival Colombo – Veyangoda (44.9kms – 1hr)
- Arrive at Colombo Airport.
- Meet our local representative from Star Travel.
- Transfer to Veyangoda.
- Spend the night relaxing at Hotel Covanro.
- Stay overnight at Hotel Covanro.
Day 2: Veyangoda – Wilaptuwa (169kms – 3.5hrs) – Anuradhapura (38.6kms – 47mins) (Breakfast)
- Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.
- Drive to Wilpattu National Park for a morning safari to observe elephants, leopards, and other wildlife. Note that entrance fees and jeep hire are not included.
- After the safari, drive to Anuradhapura.
- Relax at the hotel.
- Stay overnight in Anuradhapura.
Day 3: Anuradhapura – Trincomalee (108kms – 2hrs) (Breakfast)
- After breakfast, proceed to Anuradhapura city tour. (Entrance Not Include) Anuradhapura.
- Explore Anuradhapura, an ancient city with several must-visit sites, including the sacred Sri Maha Bodhi tree, Ruwanwelisaya stupa, Thuparamaya stupa containing Buddha’s right collarbone, Jetavanarama stupa, Abhayagiri Vihara monastery and Isurumuniya rock temple with ancient carvings and a pond.
- Drive to Trincomalee and visit Trincomalee city in the afternoon.
- Stopovers on the way to nearby beaches of Uppuveli and Nilaveli.
- Stay overnight in Nilaveli.
Day 4: Trincomalee (Optional Experience from May to Oct – Whale Watching) – Habarana (84.2kms – 1.5hrs) (Breakfast)
- Leave early in the morning for a whale/dolphin-watching excursion into the Indian Ocean. Note that this activity is optional and entrance fees are not included.
- Drive to Minneriya and engage in a wildlife jeep safari in the Minneriya National Park. Note that entrance fees and jeep hire are not included.
- We will take you to either Minneriya, Eco Park or Kaudulla National Park (Entrance + Jeep Not Include)
- Return to the hotel in the evening.
- Stay overnight in Habarana.
Day 5: Habarana – Sigiriya (17.1kms – 24mins) – Kandy (90kms – 2.5hrs) (Optional Experience – Cultural Dance Show) (Breakfast)
- After breakfast, drive towards Sigiriya to visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Note that entrance fees are not included.
- Continue driving to Kandy.
- Visit the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy and in the evening watch a cultural dance show (optional/ (Entrance Not Include).
- Stay overnight in Kandy.
Day 6: Kandy – Colombo (144kms – 3hrs) (Breakfast)
- After breakfast, proceed towards Colombo, the economic capital of the island.
- En route, visit Giragama tea factory.
- Upon completion of the tour, continue towards Colombo.
- Arrive in Colombo and the rest of the evening is at leisure.
- Overnight stay in Colombo.
Day 7: Colombo – Galle (147kms – 2hrs) – Colombo (Breakfast)
- After breakfast, drive down the south part of Sri Lanka, Galle for a city tour – involves visiting the historic Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site that dates to the 16th century.
- Inside the fort, you can walk along the cobblestone streets, admire the colonial architecture, and visit attractions such as the Dutch Reformed Church and the National Maritime Museum. (Entrance Not Include)
- Next, visit a Turtle Hatchery located a few kilometers north of the main Hikkaduwa town. Note that entrance fees are not included.
- Proceed to a Mangrove boat ride in Maadu River. Note that entrance fees are not included.
- Drive back to Colombo and overnight at the hotel.
Day 8: Colombo City Tour – Depart to airport (Breakfast)
- After breakfast, check out hotel and proceed to Colombo city tour and some shopping.
- Visit the Colombo Lighthouse, the prison cell of the last Sri Lankan King, the Lighthouse with Clock Tower designed by Lady Ward (built before Big Ben in London), Galle Face Promenade with cannons of World War II, the Port City, South Expansion of the Colombo Harbour and many more.
- Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
